Pitch Literary Agents at the Michigan Writing Workshop (May 4, 2024) in Metro Detroit

Brian Klems & Chuck Sambuchino here — to tell you that the 2024 Michigan Writing Workshop is coming up fast on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the Embassy Suites Livonia/Novi. Join us! If you’re getting this email, you’ve either attended a conference before or inquired about one. (If you’ve already signed up for 2024, thank you!)

The event is a one-day writers conference with classes as well as 9 literary agents & editors in attendance meeting writers one-on-one:

https://michiganwritingworkshop.com/

To register: If you want to sign up for the in-person Michigan (Livonia/Novi) writers conference, all you have to do is email us back and let us know. That’s it. At that point, we will reply and send you registration instructions. Look for that new email response from us ASAP!

This Michigan-area one-day-writers conference (930 am – 500 pm, May 4, 2024) is a chance to enjoy instructional classes, and also hear advice directly from our 9 attending literary agents & editors. We hosted the MWW in-person before COVID and are pleased to once again bring it to you live.

If you’re instead interested in an online conference, we coordinate one of those each month. Each has 30-40 attending agents, and you can see the full event list here: http://www.writingdayworkshops.com/event-locations–dates.html (Our next online event is the Ohio Writing Workshop on May 10-11, 2024.)

Our Writing Day Workshops conferences draw great writing talent and amazing literary agents. We have many, many success stories listed where writers have signed with agents at our conferences.

The Michigan website addresses pricing, details, location, attending agents, class schedules for May 4, and more. That said, we are happy to address any questions you have. Again, if you want to Register for the 2024 event, just respond to this email and let us know.

Our writers conference events rely on word-of-mouth from attendees and area writers. Any last-minute word-spreading you do about the conference is appreciated and valuable. Thank you for considering telling friends and regional writing groups.

Thanks!
coordinators Brian Klems & Chuck Sambuchino

Books are important. We could go on and on about how important reading is important.

So pick up a book this month. Get your friends to pick up a book and get your family to pick up a book

Can’t Decide?

Just read a book and then come back and let us know what you read. Do a review and send the author a note of thanks for making good (or bad) reading possible.

NATIONAL WRITE YOUR STORY DAY #motownwriters

  •
  • National Write Your Story Day (March 14) - Activities and How to Celebrate Write Your Story Day - YouTube

NATIONAL WRITE YOUR STORY DAY

Everyone has a story. On March 14, National Write Your Story Day challenges you to tell your story in written form.

You may think to yourself, “There’s nothing in my life to tell.” It will surprise you once you put pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard and the words start filling the pages. Words have a way of triggering memories. They form a moment in time, and before you know it, there’s a story flowing from your fingertips. Even if you never share your tale, it can be an essence of who you are and where you’ve been.

Trips down memory lane or recreating the moment when a spark of inspiration occurred, are more intriguing than you know. Today, they fill blogs, inspire novels and entire television series. More importantly, they are treasures to family and loved ones.

National Write Your Story Day encourages us to start telling our personal story today. There’s a story worth recounting in there somewhere!

HOW TO OBSERVE

Commit to writing your story. Grab pen and paper or your favorite electronic device and begin typing away. We all have a story to tell. Use #WriteYourStoryDay to share on social media.

HISTORY

Mitzy founded National Write Your Story Day in September of 2017. The Registrar at National Day Calendar proclaimed it will be observed annually beginning March 14, 2018.

Mitzy is an Author, Artist, Guide and founder of Mitzy TV, which pushes to inspire authors and artist to become better individuals. This business also works to provide direction and encouragement to others so that they can push their work out into the world where it can best serve others.

Re-Introducing your founder, award-winning author and literary digital strategist, Sylvia Hubbard of #motownwriters

Hello Motown Writers Members

Your founder, author, and literary digital strategist, Sylvia Hubbard, is here to introduce myself to the new and re-familiarize with the older members.

Related website:
sylviahubbard.com | motownwriters.com

First and foremost, thank you for being a part of this literary journey. It started in 2000 as an online organization that provided information for writers on writing, publishing, and marketing their books and introduced authors in Michigan to readers.

In 2004, we started to meet online with our first-ever conference. Afterward, we’d meet every second Saturday in the bookstore and then move to the main library. Give me some love in the comments if you were a part of our offline meetings. We kept up the conference until 2014, yet as other literary conferences started popping up in Metro Detroit, we decided to help and assist other organizations in bringing more literacy and literary education all over the state of Michigan to the masses. We still kept up our 2nd Saturdays – even when a pandemic hit, except we moved back online where we have our meetings in our Facebook groups.

Facebook.com/groups/motownwriters

Now, as an organization with thousands on the mailing list and building a paid membership program, I salute you all for your help in getting us this far. It has always been the members of this group who have carried us thus far.

To find out more about member benefits and join our mailing list, please go here:
https://motownwriters.wordpress.com/join/member-benefits/

This is also where you can become a premium member and get access to the VIP page.

We still adhere to our motto and encourage everyone to share their literary challenges and successes in our discussion group.

I’m proud to have writers, readers, librarians, book lovers, authors, and literary organizations all inside the network, sharing information and having the love of words deep inside their hearts.

I’m an author who started with one book, Dreams of Reality, in 2000. I’ve written and published over 60 stories, with so much more to come. I used to edit and publish other authors, but now I focus on myself, the Motown Writers, and the Michigan Literary Network. Keeping myself sane and the organization afloat is just enough.

I’m always available to come to your event to speak, keynote or do a workshop. Just contact me

I write romance suspense, and to find more about my books, please go to:

Here are my current WIPs, published and about to be releases for the 2023-2024 year (but there’s still more to come)
